Nicabate patches are no longer available Nicabate patches are designed to help you stop smoking. Nicabate patches are a ‘step down’ program that gradually reduces your nicotine dose rather than stopping it suddenly. Nicabate Patches deliver the nicotine transdermaly through the skin. Using Nicabate patches allows you to work on changing the habits that accompany smoking whilst being slowly weaned off nicotine. Nicabate patches have a unique rate controlled membrane, which releases nicotine steadily through the skin into the blood steam, regardless of skin type. Nicabate patches release nicotine immediately after application of the patch. The nicotine continues to be released throughout a 24-hour period, peaking after 2 – 4 hours. Each Nicabate patch helps relieve many nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cravings, which you would otherwise have when you stop smoking.
You can stop smoking using Nicabate patches in 3 easy steps. Step 1 should be used for six weeks and delivers 21mg of nicotine over a 24-hour period per patch. Step 2 should be used for two weeks and delivers 14mg of nicotine over a 24-hour period per patch and step 3 should be used for just two weeks and delivers 7mg of nicotine over a 24-hours period.
If you smoke less than 10 cigarettes per day you should start with step 2.
