| Use Viraban for the prevention and treatment of cold sores. The herpes simplex virus causes a cold sore to appear and being ‘run-down’ makes you more vulnerable to cold sores. Viraban contains an antiviral (acyclovir), which treats infections caused by viruses. Viraban can also help shorten the healing time of cold sores already visible. Start treatment as soon as you feel the tingling that indicates a cold sore is developing. |
Dosage
| Adults | Apply a small amount of Viraban to the affected area 5 times a day for 5 days. |

Caution
See your doctor if your cold sore is no better after 10 days.
If you have had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients of Viraban you should consult your doctor before using. If you are pregnant or intending to become pregnant, breast feeding, taking other medications (especially those which are being applied to the same area as the Viraban) or have any condition which may have weakened your immune system you should consult your doctor before using Viraban.
