Oracort contains a corticosteriod (triamcinolone acetonide), which has anti-inflammatory, anti-itch and anti-allergic properties, which help relieve oral soreness, inflammation and ulceration. The dental paste acts as an adhesive keeping the medication in close contact with the affected area, as well as providing a protective covering.
