Senokot is an effective laxative made from naturally derived senna and comes in 100 tablet packs. Senokot may be used during pregnancy for the relief of occasional constipation. During breast-feeding, take only moderate doses. Senokot is an effective yet gentle way to relieve the pain and discomfort caused by constipation. Take this Senokot with a drink of water. Use the directions below unless prescribed otherwise by your doctor.
Dosage
Adults
2-4 tablets daily
Children 12 years and over
2-4 tablets daily
Children 7-12 years
1-2 tablets daily at bedtime
Children 2-6 years
Administer Senokot only on doctors’ advice
Caution
Drink plenty of water and increase the amount of fibre in your diet. Laxatives should not be used for extended periods of time as they can cause dependence. If after three days of treatment a bowel action has not occurred please consult your doctor. If you have nausea, are vomiting or have abdominal pain do not use Senokot. Mild griping may occur temporarily when adjusting dosages.
