| Unfortunately Rogaine is no longer available. Rogaine topical solution is indicated for the treatment of alopecia androgenetica (male and female pattern baldness) helping to re-grow hair, thicken existing hair, and stabilize or reduce existing hair loss. Rogaine is the first pharmaceutical product medically proven to halt hereditary hair loss in both men and women. Over five million people worldwide have used Rogaine, of which 1 million are women.
Rogaine contains Minoxidil, a drug that was originally used to treat high blood pressure. Researchers noticed that their patients who were taking Minoxidil experienced hair regrowth. This lead to the marketing of Minoxidil as a topical solution specifically for hair growth. Rogaine has been shown to be effective in promoting hair regrowth and in stabilizing hair loss.
Hair re-growth occurs as early as 6 - 8 weeks in some people after starting a Rogaine program although a longer course of 4 or more months of continuous use may be necessary before hair growth is observed. The degree of hair growth will vary from person to person. Although a special shampoo is not strictly necessary when using Rogaine it is recommended that you use Pregaine shampoo. Pregaine shampoo is scientifically formulated to clean thinning hair, and works by very gently cleansing your scalp and hair without causing damage or impeding the absorption of Rogaine.
Rogaine comes with three different applicators, rub-on; extended nozzle and spray pump. When applying Rogaine start in the centre of the bald area and spread to cover the entire affected area. Apply Rogaine only when the hair and scalp are thoroughly dry. One bottle is approximately sufficient for one month’s treatment. |
