Zyrtec brings fast, long lasting relief. Zyrtec is an antihistamine for allergy, hayfever and hives sufferers. People can be allergic to either indoor or outdoor allergies. Generally people who are susceptible to one form of allergy are usually prone to the other, although they may not know this. Zyrtec is effective against both forms of allergy.
Outdoor allergies are usually caused by various forms of airborne pollens either from grasses, weeds or trees these tend to be easier to treat, as they are seasonal occurring mainly during spring and summer. The most common outdoor allergy is of course hayfever or seasonal rhinitis also frequently referred to as a summer cold. Indoor allergies are mainly caused by pet hair, molds and house hold dust however indoor allergies are more difficult to treat as exposure occurs all year round with people spending more time indoors than out. Generally this means that symptoms also occur throughout the year. Zyrtec is an anti-allergic antihistamine medicine designed to specifically treat both indoor and outdoor allergies with the active ingredient certizene hydrochloride. People who do suffer from allergies can have as many as 8 symptoms including sneezing, runny itchy dripping nose, and itchy red, watery eyes.
Zyrtec also helps to reduce cases of chronic hives or urticaria whose symptoms appear mainly as skin rashes that causes redness, itching and swelling. Hives can be caused by eating certain foods, or through contact with certain drugs or chemicals.
Zyrtec is fast acting, allergy symptom relief that starts occurring usually within 10-20 minutes after taking zyrtec with most people reporting significant symptom relief within 60 minutes. Just one dose of zyrtec provides 24 hours of allergy symptom relief.
Before Taking Zyrtec
Pregnant or breast feeding women should consult a doctor before taking zyrtec. People with known hypersensitivity to zyrtec should AVOID taking it. People with kidney problems should seek medical advice before taking zyrtec, a smaller dose may be necessary. |
Dosage
| Adults | Single daily dose of either 1 Tablet, 20drops or 10ml solution |
| Children over 6 years of age | Single daily dose of one tablet, 20 drops or 10ml solution. Although this may need to be broken up into 2 individual dosages of half a tablet, 10 drops or 5ml solution |
| Children 2 to 6 years of age | A single daily dose of half a tablet, 10 drops or 5ml solution. Although this may need to be taken as 2 individual dosages of a quarter tablet, 5 drops or 2.5ml solution. |

Caution
Occasionally some effects may occur, such as feeling drowsy, dry mouthed or fatigued. These are usually mild and tend to wear off as treatment continues. Drowsiness occurs rarely, but if your feel drowsy after taking Zyrtec, be cautious about driving or using machinery for 8 hours. In such cases it is better to take your Zyrtec before you go to bed at night. If you have any concerns consult your medical practitioner.
