Driclor
Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate Ph. Eur. 20% w/w (185mg/ml) in alcohol and water
 

Driclor is for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive persperation). Everyone perspires to some extent, especially when it is hot, but some people perspire and become wet and sticky even under normal conditions. Embarrassment, stress and tension can make things worse. Driclor is a strong anti-perspirant for treating excessive perspiration.

Driclor does not contain any perfume and is not a deodorant. Therefore you can continue to use your normal deodorant in the usual way.

Dosage

Adults:Driclor should be applied to the affected areas using the roll-on applicator in the usual way.
It is best to use Driclor last thing at night, just before going to bed when the sweat glands are least active.
Wash off in the morning and do not reapply during the day.
At first, you should use Driclor each night until sweating stops during the day. At this stage, you may be able to cut down its use to twice a week or less.

Caution

  • Driclor can cause temporary stinging and irritation in some people. If this troubles you, stop using Driclor for a while to see if this helps. If it doesn't, then ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
  • Do not apply Driclor to broken skin or on cuts or abrasions.
  • If you shave under your arms, try to do so in the morning or at different times to applying Driclor.
  • Driclor can stain clothing so take care to let it dry fully before putting on nightclothes.
  • Store Driclor in a cool place.
  • Keep Driclor away from naked flame.
